Direct drive instead of a belt, from the very first kit
The MOZA R3 Bundle for PC is the most affordable way to move from a belt or gear-driven wheel to direct drive. The kit holds the R3 base, a 280 mm ES Lite wheel and the two-pedal SR-P Lite set; the clamp, power supply, cables and tools are already in the box, so nothing else is needed. The servo motor sends its 3.9 Nm peak straight to the wheel shaft: there is no belt to smear small impulses and no gear train to click around centre. The aviation-grade aluminium housing follows MOZA's X-shaped design, the encoder is 15-bit, USB polling runs at 1000 Hz and rated power is 60 W. Dedicated ports for pedals and a dash display keep the computer's USB ports free. The ES Lite wheel is built for PC: aluminium face plate and shift paddles, ISF PU grips, 22 programmable buttons and a strip of ten high-brightness RGB rev LEDs. The SR-P Lite pedals are all steel, with contactless Hall sensors and adjustable spacing and plate height. Feedback strength, pedal curves and button mapping are all set in MOZA Pit House.

The way into direct drive
In belt and gear-driven wheels the force reaches your hands through mechanics that mute detail and add play around centre. The R3 puts the rim straight onto the servo shaft: 3.9 Nm arrives without delay, and the moment the front tyres let go registers as an event rather than as general vibration. It is the same principle used in bases twice the price, only in a compact housing.
- 02
Aluminium where plastic usually sits
The base housing is cast from an aviation-grade aluminium alloy in an X shape with cooling fins — that means rigidity and heat removal during a long session. On the ES Lite wheel the face plate and shift paddles are aluminium, so shifts feel crisp and do not go soft over time. The pedal set is all steel.
- 03
The ES Lite wheel: 22 buttons at hand
The 280 mm rim is close in size to a road car wheel, which suits GT sims and rally alike. The front plate carries 22 programmable buttons, a D-pad and ten high-brightness RGB rev LEDs you can read with peripheral vision. LEDs and button mapping are configured per game in Pit House.
- 04
Pedals that do not wear out
The SR-P Lite set is built on high-strength steel, and the Hall sensors work without contact — unlike the potentiometers in cheap sets, which start to drift and lose their zero over time. Spacing and plate height adjust to your height, and throttle and brake curves can be reshaped in Pit House: you can make the brake less abrupt at the start of its travel, for instance.
- 05
Room to grow
The R3 does not hit a ceiling the day you buy it: the base accepts any current MOZA wheel through the shared quick release, so a formula rim or a model with a screen can follow later. Dedicated ports take pedals and a dash display, and the SR-P Lite pedals have a clutch and kits that change brake resistance. The clamp lets you start on an ordinary desk and move to a cockpit when one arrives.
Compatibility
The kit is built for Windows PCs and connects over USB. The ES Lite wheel is a PC-only version, so this set does not work on Xbox or PlayStation; for consoles MOZA offers the R3 bundle with the ESX wheel. MOZA publishes a detailed list of supported titles for this version. It includes Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing, rFactor 2, Automobilista and Automobilista 2, RaceRoom Racing Experience, the F1 series from 2018 to 2024, Project CARS 1–3, DiRT Rally, DiRT Rally 2.0 and DiRT 4, Richard Burns Rally, the WRC series, Forza Horizon 4 and 5, BeamNG.drive, Wreckfest, KartKraft, CarX Drift Racing Online, Live For Speed, plus Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator, SnowRunner and MudRunner. MOZA notes separately that the Steam release of Forza Horizon 4 is not supported and that Forza Horizon 5 is listed for Windows 10. The R3 base works with every current MOZA wheel through the shared quick release, and its dedicated ports take the pedals and a dash display.

Questions
Will this kit work on an Xbox?
No. This version includes the ES Lite wheel, which is made for PC only. For Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, MOZA sells a separate version of the same kit with the ESX wheel and an official Microsoft licence; that one works on both console and PC.
Is 3.9 Nm enough for sim racing?
For getting started and for playing at an ordinary desk, yes. What matters more than the absolute figure is that the force comes straight from the motor: detail and response at 3.9 Nm of direct drive beat belt wheels with similar-looking numbers. If you later want something heavier, the base can be swapped while keeping the wheel and pedals.
What else do I need to start playing?
Nothing. The box already holds the base, wheel, pedals, clamp, power supply, cables and a toolkit — all you need is a Windows PC and a free USB port. A clutch pedal, shifter, handbrake and other MOZA accessories can be added later if you want them.
How does the preorder work and how long is the wait?
The kit is sold on preorder. You place a request, a GEEKSHOP manager contacts you to confirm the configuration and the price, and once the order is confirmed delivery takes about a month.
