01 / How it works

The wheel of a hypercar they built forty of

The MOZA Essenza SCV12 is a steering wheel officially licensed by Automobili Lamborghini Squadra Corse, reproducing the wheel of the Essenza SCV12 hypercar, of which just 40 cars were built. The geometry and control layout are reproduced from Lamborghini's original CAD data, so what you hold is a replica of the track wheel rather than something merely inspired by it. It measures 310 × 164 × 175 mm and weighs 1,950 g. The face plate is twill-weave carbon fibre; the rear structure and the paddles are CNC-machined aluminium alloy, and the rotary encoders are aluminium too. The grips are wrapped in the same grade of suede used in Squadra Corse race cars: grippy, with no slip, and unmistakably purposeful in the hand. MOZA states the shift paddles were validated over more than a million actuations. At the centre sits a 4.3-inch colour LCD touchscreen at 800×480: track map, telemetry, pedal inputs, car status, plus official Lamborghini Squadra Corse themes. Above the screen are 10 high-brightness RGB rev LEDs across 16.7 million colours, with flag and DRS signal LEDs on the sides. In total the wheel provides 72 programmable signals: 8 backlit buttons, 4 thumb encoders and 4 twelve-position rotary encoders that run in incremental or discrete mode. Mounting is an aluminium quick release; the rim is compatible with all current MOZA bases and connects to third-party bases through the MOZA Hub Kit.

  1. 01

A replica of the track wheel, not a styling exercise

The Essenza SCV12 is a track-only Lamborghini hypercar built in a run of 40 cars. MOZA reproduced its steering wheel from Automobili Lamborghini Squadra Corse's original CAD data: the dimensions, grip shape, encoder and button positions, their colour coding and the Lamborghini badge on the centre panel all match. This is an officially licensed product rather than a lookalike — the licence covers the MOZA and Lamborghini collaboration.

  2. 02

    Squadra Corse suede and carbon

The grips are wrapped in the same grade of suede that goes into Squadra Corse race cars: grippy, slip-free under a glove, and it takes on a characteristic matte look over time. The face plate is twill-weave carbon fibre, the rear structure is CNC-machined aluminium alloy, and the rotary encoders are anodised. At 1,950 g and 310 × 164 × 175 mm this is a substantial, serious piece built for a powerful base.

  3. 03

A 4.3-inch screen with Lamborghini themes

The 4.3-inch 800×480 colour LCD touchscreen shows the track map, telemetry, pedal inputs and car status in real time. Official Lamborghini Squadra Corse interfaces are included, and you can build your own dashboards in MOZA Pit House. Switching layouts is a touch away, mid-stint, without dropping into the sim's menus.

  4. 04

    72 signals and 12-position encoders

Eight backlit buttons, four thumb encoders and four rotary encoders add up to 72 programmable signals. The rotaries have 12 positions and run in two modes: incremental, which only sends up and down, or discrete, where each of the 12 positions sends its own signal. The second mode suits engine maps and TC levels — you land on the value you want immediately instead of stepping through.

  5. 05

Rev and flag lights right in front of you

Ten high-brightness RGB rev LEDs sit centrally above the screen across 16.7 million colours, with the shift point tuned per car in MOZA Pit House. Side signal LEDs cover marshal flags, DRS and car status, so the things that matter register in your peripheral vision without pulling your eyes off the racing line. Colours and trigger logic are all set in software.

Compatibility

The rim is compatible with all current MOZA bases and connects to third-party bases through the MOZA Universal Hub Kit, sold separately. Mounting is an aluminium alloy quick release. Dashboards, themes, LED colours and the 72 input assignments are configured in the MOZA Pit House app for PC; console support depends on the base, so check with a GEEKSHOP manager.

Questions

Is this an official Lamborghini product?

Yes — it is an officially licensed product of the MOZA Racing and Automobili Lamborghini Squadra Corse collaboration. The wheel reproduces the Essenza SCV12 hypercar rim and was built from Lamborghini's original CAD data, and the screen carries official Squadra Corse themes.

Which bases will this wheel fit?

All current MOZA bases — the rim mounts directly via the aluminium quick release. For third-party bases it connects through the MOZA Universal Hub Kit, which is sold separately.

Does it have dual-clutch paddles?

MOZA's spec sheet lists two aluminium alloy shift paddles; no separate dual-clutch paddles are listed. If a dual clutch matters to you, look at MOZA's formula rims with a six-paddle layout instead.

How does the pre-order work and when does it arrive?

The wheel is sold on pre-order. After your request a GEEKSHOP manager contacts you and confirms the order; the indicative lead time is about a month from confirmation. The manager gives the exact date when confirming.
